Tecar Therapy

TECAR THERAPY - ENDOGENOUS HEAT THAT REGENERATES AND CARES
TECAR therapy, which literally means Capacitive and Resistive Energy Transfer, is a form of endogenous thermotherapy that is gaining acceptance in the medical and physiotherapy fields due to its extraordinary effectiveness in the treatment of trauma and pathologies of the musculoskeletal system.
The principle on which this therapy is based is that of endogenous heat produced with sinusoidal currents of high frequency (500 Khz) applied by electrodes to the part of the body where the therapeutic action is to be brought.
Although heat-based therapy has been known and used for a long time for the treatment of painful joint and muscle diseases, only with the advent of this new technology, which manages to generate heat within the tissues, has substantial progress been made. in terms of effectiveness and results.

THE THERAPEUTIC ADVANTAGES OF ENDOGENOUS HEAT
In traditional techniques such as infrared, ultrasound or laser the application of heat is done from the outside (exogenous heat) but this method involves a rapid drop in temperature as it propagates in the body; in contact heating, for example, the applied heat decays to the basal value of 37 ° already after a few millimeters of penetration.
The endogenous heating produced by Tecar Therapy instead develops, due to the passage of current, right inside the part of the body being treated (for this reason it is also called Diathermy) and allows to obtain a homogeneous, deep and particularly comfortable heat distribution. even in depth.
Another important strength of Tecar Therapy consists in the fact that the therapist, by using appropriate treatment methods and energy levels, is able to direct and graduate the therapeutic action with great precision.

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, ANALGIC, REGENERATING ACTION
The rapid alternation of movement of electrical charges through the tissues produces, due to the Joule effect, an increase in temperature which increases the volume of blood in the treated area.

The heat in fact opens the pre-capillary and capillary circulation (there are up to 100.000 capillaries per cm3 in the tissues) which increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and stimulates the lymphatic system facilitating the drainage of the fluids present between the walls of the capillaries and cell membranes, (interstitial space)
Furthermore, we must not forget that heat is a physical agent capable of considerably increasing the speed of metabolic reactions, of enhancing the biological processes of recovery and repair and of carrying out an important algo-sedative action.
Another aspect to underline concerns the electrical equilibrium of cell membranes: the thermal effect produced by the current modifies the permeability of the cell walls, producing the rebalancing in the distribution of fluids between the cell and the interstitial space; for this reason the treatment with diathermy is particularly indicated for the reabsorption of edema and blood effusions.

The action of TECAR Therapy, which proves to be effective even on tissues that are not very reactive and resistant to traditional treatments, actually translates into a deep and important stimulation of all biological structures.
Among the main effects we mention:
- production of endogenous heat even in depth
- lowering of viscosity of muscle and connective tissue
- increased blood circulation
- stimulation of lymphatic drainage
- increase in metabolic activity
- increase in tissue oxygenation
- greater supply of nutritional substances
- rapid elimination of waste and catabolites
- acceleration of regenerative processes
- release of endorphin and reduction of pain
